MOBY: DESTROYED Events in New York and Los Angeles

Acclaimed recording artist MOBY will participate in three events next week, in support of Destroyed, his new book of photographs made while on international tour, published by Damiani. Please scroll down for event details and a selection of images from the book, captioned by Moby.

Image below: "chicago: as i suffer from insomnia i tend to see a lot of cities late at night when everyone’s asleep but the lights are still on. i love the way cities are empty and brightly lit at 3 a.m."

EVENT LISTINGS:

NEW YORK:
On Wednesday, September 7th at 7PM, at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in New York, Moby will sit down with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Lucy Walker to discuss the book—a behind-the-scenes look at his life on the road—as well as perform songs from his latest CD of the same title. He will also sign copies of Destroyed (book or CD) only. (No other products or memorabilia, please.) Priority seating with purchase of the book or CD.

LOS ANGELES
On Saturday, September 10 at 6PM, an exhibition of Moby's photographs will open at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles (2766 S. La Cienega Blvd. Culver City), and Moby will sign copies of Destroyed. The exhibition runs through October 22nd.
On September 12, at 7PM, Moby will sign copies of the book at the acclaimed Los Angeles independent, Book Soup, located at 8818 Sunset Blvd.

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"los angeles: maybe it’s odd to be a fan of hallways, but this is probably my favorite hallway in the world. i hope they never change or renovate it, ever. the worlds best hallway."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"italy: flying somewhere within italy, and this very, very old woman was falling asleep in the sun while reading her book. it’s like the sun is looking in on her."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"latvia: probably one of my favorite crowd shots. i particularly love the graceful arc of the stadium wall at the very, very back of the picture."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"prague: there’s something strangely intimate about this picture. the photographers and i are all doing the same thing at the same time. it’s like we’re on a date together."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"paris: you know, if someone is going to build an insane space ship indoors, well, someone else should take a picture of it. or so i believe."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"brasilia: someone said, “why are there no pictures of you in your book?” so, now there’s a picture of me in the book."

Moby: Destroyed Events in New York and Los Angeles
"curitiba: i like this picture because the world of humans looks small and dark, and the natural world looks vast and grand and filled with huge birds."
